Forrester Farm, A New Logo for 2025

 

Last year at this time I began the process of working with a very talented designer to come up with a new logo for Forrester Farm. I knew that I wanted a new look for moving into our 25th year of business. Although I loved the logo that was designed in collaboration with a Kendall College student in 2000, it was definitely time for something fresh and more distinctive. 

From our first meeting though to completion, Jenna was fantastic in asking questions and working to understand the visual that I roughly had in mind for the future logo along with understanding the essence of our business. What resulted after 2 in person meetings and subsequent emails going back and forth was much better than I envisioned and encompassed more options (for a complete logo package) than what I had initially expected. 

The complete logo package with primary, secondary and tertiary options all work together to convey our brand and image. 

I've yet to update our website and incorporate the new look in other areas, but the transition is in the works and I'm excited for what the future holds.  Cheers to 25 years and moving forward!

For the back story, Forrester Farm began in 2000 as I was growing flowers on our property and sold fresh floral bouquets weekly at the local farmer's market in the beautiful town of Rockford, Michigan. Initially, the goal was to raise enough money to be able to open a sweet home & garden gift shop once our youngest daughter was in school full time. As we attended the market on a regular basis though, I was asked to provide flowers for more and more weddings. It wasn't what I set out to do, but I found that I absolutely loved it. Through the years, Forrester Farm has provided and designed flowers for hundreds of weddings and events. We've also participated in a variety of art and craft shows, vintage pop up and barn sales (with home goods and decor) and for years even hosted fun sales at our own property. Flowers, gifts and home decor has been a part of our journey since the beginning and will continue to be. It has been an absolute gift to be a part of such a creative industry and meet so many amazing people as a result.

Looking Back and Moving Forward

 Forrester Farm turned 20 in 2020. 

It seems odd to even say that. What started out as a desire to grow flowers to share with others has become a wonderful business filled with blooms and amazing clients.

As I looked through so many photos of weddings, events and social gatherings that we have been a part of thru the many years, I am just so thankful.

Seeing the smiles and photos full of joy is simply priceless!~

Whether we are creating flowers for big weddings and events or small bridal or baby showers, each event is special.  In the years that we delivered our bouquets to Whole Foods and Pulp & Stem and participated at local art fairs, farmer's markets and even our own Garden Room events, it was always so enjoyable. We have grown, changed and evolved though it all and I'm thankful for each of those experiences.  I'm especially thankful for the fabulous people (couples, clients & customers) who made it all so much sweeter. 

Cheers to 2021 and a new decade for Forrester Farm!~

Holiday Party Extraordinaire!~

It seems as though 12 months fly by quickly, every single year. The days and moments aren't always recorded or even remembered as time goes by, which is why I'm always so so thankful when our clients share photos with me following an event. Receiving the professional photos of the weddings or events that Forrester Farm provides the floral and decor for is a post event highlight for sure!~  Seeing the photos often confirms why I do what I do and inspires me to continue to learn, grow, enjoy and share more of what we love to be a part of. Beauty. Gatherings. Friendship. Love.

A Very Merry Christmas!~

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!~

It is our very first holiday season of being entrusted with this 101 year old building.

While still figuring out the ins and outs of the wiring, lighting, repairs needed and more, we couldn't let the season go by without adding a little holiday cheer...

Just love the details of the side doors and can't wait to paint them with fresh paint in the spring.

While working with some wonderfully talented local florists over the holidays, a co-designer and friend heard me discuss my budget conscience decorating ideas for the building this first season of ownership.  She created these fabulous boxwood wreaths for the front doors of the church!~  I love them and love her for making them for us!~

I'm pretty sure that these metal posts once held a connecting piece and signage. For now, I added box elder tree twigs to make an arch. I intended on adding greens and twinkle lights, but electric issues are complicating my lovely plans.

Perhaps next year, we will have wreaths complete with beautiful bows in the windows.... 

and a fancier light fixture above this stained glass window...

For now, I'm thankful for angels with bells in windows,

doors to paint fresh in the spring,

 

architecturally appealing designs, regardless of chipped paint...

jingle bells, pine cones and red berries on red doors...
