Scattered Blooms

Most often, when I provide flowers for a wedding, I'll receive notes throughout the following weeks stating how much the flowers are still being enjoyed after an event.  It always surprises me when a bride or her family do not take the reception flowers home to enjoy.  There are times, that by the end of a very full and fun day, passing out flowers is the last thing on everyone's mind, and the flowers come back to where they started, Forrester Farm.  Most often, they are scatted and shared with those who might need a "pick me" up that week.  Once in a while, they stay right at our house and scatter joy on the homefront....

All white hydrangeas, lilies, baby's breath, lisianthus and 2 varieties of garden roses were used for this event ~

along with succulents in the bridal bouquet (which the bride did take home!)~

Smelling the Roses...

This past weekend was very busy with 2 different weddings that Forrester Farm provided flowers for.  I just posted some of the wedding flower snapshots on our Forrester Farm facebook page.  We are looking forward to seeing the photographer's photos soon.

Occasionally after a big wedding, if the bridal party family decides that they have enough flowers to enjoy and don't want to take too many flowers home, we share what is left with the venue staff and my family.  In anticipation of having my extended family over for dinner the day following the wedding, I scattered vases throughout the house and we are still stopping to smell the roses!

A "Stop and Smell the Flowers" kind of day.....

I don't know if it is true for you, but our summer has flown by fast!  For the one week that I wasn't working on wedding flowers or was out of town, we hosted family from out of state and threw a graduation & birthday party for my son.  It has been one busy summer - and this week, I'm catching up.  Reclaiming the jungle of a yard, organizing bedrooms, shopping for school clothes and college dorm supplies and.... remembering to stop to smell the flowers :)!  Today, we'll even relax and take in a fabulous floral scene while enjoying music at the local botanical gardens:  Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. 

A wonderful perk to all the summer weddings I've worked on - 

the "left-over" flowers that call for a vase in my home.

Wedding Season is in Full Swing....

and I've hardly taken a moment to post photos - though we did take time to have a great California get away :)! More about that at another time.

Mandy and Ken are both in the military. Though their date had been set for this summer, they thought they would have to post-pone the wedding due to new military assignments. As it turned out, they were able to go forward with their planned date, and they couldn't be happier.

I'm looking forward to getting photos from the wedding photographer, but in the meantime, am posting the photos that I took during set up.  The family was a joy to work with - and so were the flowers :)~
